For over 10 years, Cake Obsession has been creating custom cakes from our home in Basildon, Essex — celebrating birthdays, weddings, engagements, and every milestone in between. But cakes have always come with one frustrating limit: they're delicate, and getting them to you in perfect condition has meant we could only serve customers nearby.

Not anymore.

We've created a range of mini chocolate cakes, designed from the ground up to travel. Each one is small enough to ship safely, beautiful enough to feel like a proper celebration cake, and thoughtfully packaged so it arrives ready to gift — wherever in the UK you are.

This is our way of finally sharing the joy of cake with everyone, not just the customers who happen to live down the road.

Why Mini Cakes?

Good things come in small packages, and these cakes prove it. Underneath every design is the same moist chocolate cake we've spent a decade perfecting — rich, soft, and made fresh to order, never mass-produced.

What makes each one special is the decoration on top. Every flower, every figure, every letter is handmade by us, individually, no shortcuts. Whether it's delicate pastel flowers, an elegant Mr & Mrs topper, a golden mermaid tail, or a playful dinosaur scene, each design is created with the same care we'd put into a full-sized celebration cake.

They're sized to serve 1-2 people, making them the perfect personal treat or gift — big on presentation, without the waste of a cake too large to finish.

We didn't just want to make a smaller cake. We wanted to make a cake that felt like a proper gift the moment it arrives.

Every order comes packaged in a kraft gift box with natural shredded filler, so there's no need for extra wrapping — just open the box and it's ready to hand over, post, or place on someone's doorstep. Whether you're sending it to a friend two streets away or a family member two hundred miles away, it arrives looking every bit as thoughtful as it was made to be.

That's the whole idea. You don't have to be in the same room to be part of someone's celebration. You just have to send a cake that says you were thinking of them.

How far in advance should I order a birthday cake?

For best availability, we recommend placing your cake order at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially for weekends, popular designs, or larger celebration cakes. During busy periods, slots can fill up even earlier.

However, some last-minute availability may still be possible. You can check this by selecting your preferred date under the Delivery Date option on the order form—only available dates will be shown.

Ordering early ensures you secure your date and gives enough time to plan and create your cake exactly as requested.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, we offer delivery only across Basildon and surrounding Essex areas.

All cakes are carefully transported to ensure they arrive in perfect condition and ready to be enjoyed. Delivery helps maintain the quality and structure of your cake, especially for taller or more detailed designs.

Delivery availability and time slots can be selected when placing your order. Simply choose your preferred Delivery Date on the order form to see available options for your area.

Can I personalise my cake?

Yes, all cakes can be personalised to suit your celebration.

You can customise elements such as the colour scheme, theme, message, name, age, and overall design style. Whether you have a clear idea in mind or need help choosing a design, we can create something that fits your occasion perfectly.

Simply include your requirements in the order form, and we’ll use those details to design your cake. If you have inspiration images, you can share those too to help guide the final look.

Can you replicate the the cake design exactly or Ai - generated cake design?

We’re happy to work from inspiration images and will use them to understand the style, colours, and design elements you’d like for your cake.

Every effort is made to replicate the design as closely as possible. However, as all cakes are handmade, an exact replica cannot be guaranteed. Small variations may occur, but the final result will stay true to the overall look and feel of your chosen design.

AI-generated cake designs

Yes — you can use AI-generated images to help us understand the style, colours, and overall design you’re looking for.

They’re a great way to communicate inspiration and give us a clear idea of your vision. However, please note that some AI designs may include unrealistic details, structures, or decorations that cannot always be safely or practically recreated in a real cake.

We will always use your image as inspiration and do our best to match the overall look and feel, but the final cake may differ slightly due to real-life baking and structural limitations.
